Second round street light Installations have been completed
Panchenai and other adjacent villages didn't have street lights. Due to the proximity to deep forest and frequent visit by wild elephants, street lights are very critical for Panchenai. When Anpuneri Panchenai Village Development Society approached government official several times in the past, it has been informed that there is a long waiting list due to limited supply of light fixtures for public street lights. When the development society explained the critical need for the lights, official agreed to install lights free of charge on the government posts along the main streets of the village, provided that the Development Society provides finance to procure the light fixtures. As a result, Anpuneri raised funds for Phase 1 Street Light last year and the installations were completed in December 2017.
The development society requested additional 35 street lights at critical locations after Phase I completion. During Anpuneri BBQ 2018, Mr. Stan Muthulingam, Co-Chairman and Chief Executive of CableShoppe Inc. (CSI), came forward and sponsored this project. The street lights have been now installed. Anpuneri and the Village Development Society thank Mr. Stan Muthulingam for his generous contribution towards the village development project.
